Long time, no blog!

Wow, I haven't posted here in a long time!
I'm so sorry, and I see I have a few more followers. Thank you all for following my blog! I will try my best to get back on my game, and post more often. ^^

I have some great news! I'm getting a new doll head soon. I paid for him a few days ago, and I was told that he would be sent out in about a week. He won't have a face-up so I'll still need to get him one. This means I will probably not post photos of him until he is finished. But I might post some teaser pictures when he comes in. Although I won't say what mold he is yet. xD

I'm really excited about this new boy. His name will be Shiga Atsushi. He's a bit of strange character. He is probably my most "out there" character which is why I'm so excited about him. I'll post more about his character when he arrives, if you guys are interested~

Chami's new wig

Sorry I haven't updated here in a while. I haven't really had any new updates and I've been kind of busy! x_x

But I did want to share that Chami got her new wig in the mail a little while ago. This is exactly the color and style I wanted for her default~

Doll Convention Talk + Issei

I absolutely love this jumpsuit on him. I bought it last year at a doll convention in Tokyo, and it was the best doll purchase ever, haha (well, when it comes to doll clothing). The quality is amazing and the woman who made it was super nice. I love going to doll conventions in Japan because there are so many amazing seamstresses all under one roof. Sadly, I haven't been able to go to any this year (too busy + lack of money), but there is one coming up in September that I will try my best to attend. If I don't go to that one, there are a couple in December. But I'm going to try and go to the one in September as I do need some things for Chami!

I'm sorry it's been a while. I'm on summer vacation, and I've been going out a lot so no real time to post blogs or take any pictures.

But I wanted to pop in and say I do have some new photos to post, so they will be up soon, hopefully. xD; I also want to talk about new dolls plans, etc...

It's a girl!

Here is my new doll! It's a girl!!! Go figure~
I remember when I first started, I thought I would only have boys. Well, after Hana that looked to have changed, and now I have a SD sized girl. ^_^

Her name is Oshima Chami. She's a Volks F-22 (or Kun). I bought her second hand so she came a bit scratched, but nothing that can't be taken care of.

The wig and eyes are temporary so I will eventually change them. ^^

I'll make another blog post later to explain a bit about her character~

New doll?

So there is a possibility I will have a new doll very soon.

The problem is that I have nothing for this doll. I don't have any clothing at all nor a wig or eyes. So it may be a while because I can post photos. Of course I'll post box opening photos at least!

I won't say what doll sculpt it is, nor will I say if it is a boy or girl. But you may be able to guess the company since I'm pretty obvious when it comes to companies.

I will say this though, it isn't any of the dolls I said I was planning to get next. Surprise! But not really, because I always seem to stray from my plans. I will eventually get back on track with my original plans. xD

Natsuki - Progress

I took some photos yesterday with Natsuki in the other wig I bought for him. I think I prefer this wig over the fiber one. I'm still not completely satisfied with the look, but for now, I'll keep him in this one. ^_^

Now he needs some shoes, and of course, more clothes.

Natsuki Time ~ New Threads

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Natsuki finally has some clothes as well as a new wig.

I'm not sure how much I like this wig. It's the same as Saiya's (just in a different color), but I don't think it looks as good on him as it does on Saiya. I have a fur wig I will try on him next when I have the time this weekend. Hopefully that one works better. If not, I'll have to wait to buy another wig. I go through wigs like crazy, lol. xD

Volks News 49

I went to Tokyo with a couple of friends today, and while I was there, I thought it would be a good idea to stop by Volks in Shinjuku. I bought a couple of things, and also picked up the newest Volks News. It has info on Dolpa Sendai and the new dolls being released for that Dolpa.

Luckily I'm not tempted by any of the new releases. Although I will say that Megohime is adorable, and if I wasn't trying to save for other dolls that I want more, I probably would have tried for her as a friend for Natsuki.

Sorry, I've been so out of the hobby recently. I'm still in it, of course. I just haven't had much motivation or time to do anything with my dolls lately. I'm hoping to change that~

An update!

I'm sorry I've been kind of MIA lately. I've been busy with work and when I do have time off, I go out with my friends. We've been going out every weekend, spending the day out in the mountains and on the beach. It's been nice.

I haven't done much with my dolls recently, but I'm not out of the hobby or anything. I'm hoping to take some photos within the next couple of days. I have some time off on Monday and Tuesday this week so I wanted to use that free time to do some doll related things. ^_^

And for those of you who follow my Youtube account. I will try my very best to make a video soon. I feel awful that I just kind of disappeared from my channel for so long. I won't be able to make all the clothing videos I said I would be making, but I will let you know what is going on with that in my next update video. Be on the look out for that soon~

New Blog - Café Fraise

I'm aware that I have a lolita blog already, but I will be posting any clothing items I buy on this new blog from now on. The reason for this change is that I've moved away from lolita to focus on other styles for the time being. I'll keep my lolita blog up, but I probably won't be posting in it any longer.

More Attention

In order to give Saiya more attention, I've decided he gets the extra body for a while. So no Hime spam for a few months, unless I can somehow get the money in that time to get Hime his own body. xD

I always feel bad neglecting Saiya because I do love this sweetie to bits. Plus, he was my second doll ever. I have had thoughts about selling him because I never did anything with him, but I could never bring myself to do so. Instead, I'd rather spend more time on him to make him exactly the way I want him to be. He is almost there. He has the face-up, the wig, some clothes (although not enough, but then again, it's never enough for me, lol). All he needs are the right eyes and a body. He always got overshadowed by Kouhei and then Hime when I got him. And being one of my older dolls, there is no excuse for him to be unfinished still. I've had him for maybe four or five years now, and his progress has been so slow. o_o

Arupakasso

I thought I would share a recent obsession of mine. When I say recent, I mean since I moved to Japan. That obsession is Arupakasso. They are cute alpaca plushies here in Japan. They were made for claw machines in arcades so they are pretty hard to find. But there are a couple shops here and there that will sell them. Although I waste a lot of money trying to get them out of claw machines too, lol. xD

I have three at the moment. You may have seen one in a previous post, but I'll post him here again~

This guy is Aiba (and there is Domo down in the corner, haha). He was my very first Arupakasso. I plan on getting the other pastel colored plain ones like him and naming them Ono, Sakurai, Ninomiya and MatsuJun.

Much like bjds, once you have one, you eventually want more. I have two other ones that I got recently. You can see photos of them below. The pink one is Cherry and the lavender one is Berry. I had to get the one with glasses because I love glasses, plus she has a cute little bow on her head. And the lavender one has a cute little strawberry decoration on her head. It was just too cute. Cute is the only way I can describe them, lol!
 

There will be more. I have no doubts about that. But they get a bit expensive whether you buy them from a shop or try your luck at the claw machines. No matter what, you're going to pay a pretty hefty chunk of change for each one. This is why I never have any money for my dolls. xP

Changes and Plans

This post may be a bit long but for those of you who read it all, I give all the thanks to you for taking time to do so. I would like some input in any way. Thoughts, opinions, if there is something you'd like to know more about (like characters, story,...)etc...even just telling me how your doll plans have changed recently if they have.

Basically, I wanted to make this post to update on doll plans. I've been rethinking my doll plans and characters the past couple of weeks. Now not so much rethinking characters I already have but ones that aren't yet in doll form. They aren't major changes or anything, just a few tweaks. I've also decided to change up my wishlist a bit.

The reason for this is, I've decided to focus on some of my "side" characters more. They are part of the same story as my current dolls, but I hadn't really thought much about the characters other than names and relationships with current doll characters. Well, I've had a change of heart recently and some specific characters of mine are starting to come forward in my story. Of course, I still want to focus on Issei and Hime, but I also want to focus more on some of the others.

I haven't been able to do much when it comes to my dolls recently. Work is starting up again soon so I'll be a bit busy. I'm going to try my best to keep up though.

More Re-Ment

I'll be honest, the past week I've been so lazy. I haven't felt like doing much of anything, and that means updating my blogs. xD

For lack of BJD news, I'm posting more Re-Ment things. I was cleaning up my apartment today, and I found some of the Re-Ment stuff I had bought a while back. Before I got my Yo-SD, I kind of bought Re-Ment on impulse because it's just too cute. Plus, they have a lot of Rirakkuma sets, and I adore Rirakkuma! Of course, all the sets I found in my apartment were all Rirakkuma. That wasn't on purpose, I promise you that, lol. They just happen to have some of the cutest things, in my opinion~ ^_^

That about it!

Unfortunately, Natsuki still doesn't have any clothing. I was going to go to a doll convention today, but I was far too tired for working all week (and Saturday) that I decided to stay inside. I also haven't had a chance to run to Tokyo to visit some doll shops. I probably won't until the end of the month. I'm going to Tokyo to see a friend before she leaves for the States, so I figure I can stop by some doll shops while I'm already there. I promise he will have clothing soon...hopefully. xD

Re-Ment ~ Rirakkuma Cafe Series

Last Friday, I went to Chiba City to deal with some visa stuff. While there, I decided to head to LOFT which usually had a nice selection of Re-Ment. Of course, I didn't leave empty-handed. xD

I love the new Cafe series for Rirakkuma, and when I saw the Re-Ment items out for that series, I just had to get something.

Here is what I got. I decided on getting two of the random boxes and then of course, I got the table and chairs.

The table and chairs are just adorable, and a good size for Yo-SD. At least, it makes a good kiddy table for them (it is a bit small but it still fits them pretty well). My boy is kindergartener so it will be his play table. ^_^

I'm very happy with the items that came in the random boxes as well. Here is Uzu modeling the table with all the goodies on it! I got the coffee set with the cafe menu sign as well as another coffee set that includes cream and sugar (and the little rirakkuma statue). One thing I love about Re-Ment is how detailed it can be. Although at the same time, the small pieces drive me nuts. I always get freaked out that I'll lose them. If you look at the little sugar jar in the photos, the top, jar and sugar crystals are all separate pieces. I dropped it when I was putting it down after taking photos, and I almost lost those little sugar balls. xD; The little coffee cups are super cute as well, and the coffee part comes out so you can switch what kind of coffee you have in each cup (it looks like plain black coffee and a coffee with cream with what is supposed to looks like coffee foam art of rirakkuma).

Anyway, I love the sets. I want to get a few more of the random boxes from this series to get the rest of the items!

Oh I forgot to mention, the table also came with little cardboard table covers/cloths so you can change the color and picture on the table top. There are three different options I believe. Sorry I don't have photos of that part.

So yay for Re-Ment! I have more of then in one of the cabinets in my apartment that I bought when I first moved. I need to take those out to put somewhere because I almost forgot about them. xD

Doll Wishlist

I thought I would make a wishlist of all the dolls I want. Now, if I actually ever get around to buying them all is another thing, lol. xD

Surprise Box Opening

Surprise!

I never mentioned this to anyone but I bought a new doll. Actually I bought the doll a couple of days ago, and it's already here. That is one great thing about living in the country that the shop I bought it from is located in. xD

First, I want to give some info about what led to this purchase. For a long while, I've been wanting a YoSD sized doll but for whatever reason never went through with getting one even though I have a pretty long list of ones that I want. Yes, I want a number of Volks YoSDs actually. :P

Well, a couple of days ago I found this little guy at a second hand shop here (their online shop). And I will be honest, I pressed the order button almost immediately when I saw the price and condition. He was a bit over the regular price like most of Volks limited dolls, but surprisingly not by much. His condition looked untouched, actually my Ryoya is yellow-er than this guy so he's almost mint condition. He came with his original box and papers, as well as his default wig and eyes (still glued in his head, that's going to be a pain to deal with, haha). The only things he didn't come with were his outfit and shoes which I didn't want anyway.

It was destiny! xD

Introduction

Hi all!

I decided to create this blog to post about my dolls (asian ball-jointed dolls). I wanted a place to talk about dolls that wasn't just DA, Flickr and Tumblr. You will find doll ramblings, photos, box openings, upcoming plans, etc. I will also use this blog for fashion related ramblings since I do think fashion does play a part in my doll hobby. ^_^
